The Kołobrzeg Lighthouse stands by the entrance to the port, is 26 metres tall, and has 109 steps leading to it. From the viewing terrace, you can enjoy a panorama of the sea, the pier, the seaside park, and the mouth of the Parsęta River.
One of the most frequently visited spots in the city—climbing the lighthouse makes for a great addition to a visit to the pier or the Central Beach, which is why many Guests treat it as a natural extension of a walk from the Solna Island.
A standard ticket costs 15 PLN, a reduced one 10 PLN (including for children, schoolchildren and students, seniors, and residents with the Kołobrzeg Resident Card). Family tickets are also available (e.g., 2 adults + 2 children—45 PLN) as well as group tickets. Children up to age 5 enter for free.
The lighthouse operates seasonally: from April to June and again in September and October, usually 10:00–17:00; in July and August until sunset; and from November to March only on weekends, with shorter opening hours. Please note that this is approximate—prices and opening hours can change, so it’s worth checking the current price list on the lighthouse’s official website before your visit.
The 109 steps take you to the viewing terrace—an effort comparable to climbing stairs in a several-storey building. The lighthouse is a good fit for most guests in good shape, including older children. However, for people with mobility issues or very small children carried in arms, the visit may take longer and may require a few stops along the way.
From above, you can see the Baltic Sea, the Kołobrzeg pier, the Central Beach, and the mouth of the Parsęta River into the sea. With good visibility, you can also make out the port panorama and part of the Old Town. It’s one of the few places in Kołobrzeg where you can take in most of the city’s key sights all at once.
The most pleasant route is a stroll along the riverside boulevards of the Parsęta towards where it flows into the Baltic Sea. Along the way, you pass the port quays, fishing boats, the marina, and the passenger port. It’s a calm route where you can admire the river panorama and the port’s everyday life. More details about the promenade and the bridges over the Parsęta are in a separate post on our blog.
In the summer season, paid parking is available around the port and the pier, and at the peak of the season it can be harder to find a free space. We’ve described the paid parking zones in the city centre of Kołobrzeg in a separate blog article—there you’ll find the up-to-date information on rates and parking locations.
In summer, when the lighthouse is open until sunset, it’s worth planning your visit for the evening—the view of the sun setting over the sea is one of the biggest highlights of this place. During the day, especially in July and August, queues can be longer, so earlier hours are a quieter choice.
How Much Does It Cost to Enter the Lighthouse in Kołobrzeg? A standard ticket costs 15 PLN, a reduced one 10 PLN. Family and group tickets are also available, and children up to age 5 enter for free.
